BREAKING NEWS: Trial of new ADHD drug nearing completion

Alcobra LTD announced today that they have finished enrolling patients for their phase III trial of metadoxine in ADHD.

Metadoxine is an exciting new drug for ADHD for several reasons.
1)  It is a nonstimulant.
2)  It does not affect blood pressure and is nonaddictive, making particularly good for adults with ADHD who are unable to take stimulants due to heart problems or addictions.
3)  It has been used for many years in adults (not in North America) for another condition (alcohol withdrawal), so its side effect profile is fairly well known.

Alcobra's initial trials have focused on adults only, so if the trial shows metadoxine to be safe and effective it will probably be at least 1 to 2 years before a trial in children is completed.

Results of the trial should be available later this summer, so stay tuned....
