Back to College with ADHD

Is it me, or are school supplies on sale a lot earlier this year?  Although it is kind of a sad reminder that summer vacation has an end, it is also a great way to get the mind started on preparations for a new school year.

For college students, it is a good time to get organized, prepare yourself mentally, and gather supplies.  Today we'll focus on getting organized.

1)  Plan out your schedule.  Know how your registration process works and plan for different scenarios if certain classes are unavailable.  If you aren't a morning person, be sure to plan for later classes.  Also, squeeze in some time for exercise and sleep!  Post your schedule in your room and on your calendar so you know what your routine is.
2)  Clean out your book bag.
3)  Get a calendar/planner system going.  Did the system you used last year work, or do you need to try something else?  Options include a written daily planner or an app on your smartphone (with alarms or popup reminders).
4)  Plan for room organization.  Do you need some cubby shelves, over the door organizers, hooks to hang stuff on?  They'll be cheaper now with all the back to school sales.
